| What does the number in the item description stand for? |
| |
The number approximately states (rounded off) the total reduction of radiation on the glass. Thus, for example, the film Silver 80 is very effective, but also darkly tinted. Silver 70 is a medium level film and Silver 50 a light film with a minimum amount of protection from sunlight and warmth. |
| Can I used the film again? |
| |
No, because the film adhesive has already bound itself to the window pane.
However, all film types can be removed without leaving a residue at any time. |
| What type of sun protection film do you recommend? |
| |
Our external films are more effective since they reflect back the sun directly and they thus do not have to penetrate through the window pane (as is the case with internal film), which causes the window pane to heat up intensely and even leads to stress cracks in individual cases. The films Silver 80 X HC and 70 X HC are our most popular film types, since they offer a high level of protection from sunlight and warmth, without heating up of the window pane. The film 70 X HC offers a good compromise between warmth protection and light penetration. |
| Does the clear UV protective film prevent fading? |
| |
Our clear UV protective film offers UV protection of 99%. By fitting this type of film the fading process of carpets, furniture, textiles, floors etc. can be made 9 times slower, however it cannot be prevented. Thus, shop window decorations should be changed regularly in spite of the film Since the UV light is diffused light, it can also penetrate through opened windows or doors. |
| Do the reflective sun protection films and the mirrored film provide permanent visibility protection on "one side?" |
| |
Unfortunately “one sided” visibility protection if not offered permanently. The film is always mirrored on the side on to which light falls on the film, thus one is protected from prying eyes during the day, but unfortunately not in the evening or at night, unless the film is lighted up from the outside with artificial light. |
| Can I fit the film myself as a layperson? |
| |
Fitting is described in detail in the instructions included with the delivery. It is always better if two people do the fitting together. Fitting can be carried out easily even without any preliminary knowledge. |
| Do I need a special adhesive for the film? |
| |
No, our films are self-adhesive. They are fitted in a wet condition for which a mixture of water and neutral cleaning liquid, e.g. Frosch is required (see fitting instructions). |
| Which tools do I require for the fitting? |
| |
We include the necessary tools (utility knife and squeegee) with every order for film, free of cost. If you order larger quantities of film (e.g. a whole roll or more), you should also order a larger squeegee, e.g. our "wiper with plastic edge, 20 cm.) This is a special Profi wooden squeegee for fitting larger quantities of film. |
| Can the film also be stuck on parts of the window pane? |
| |
Our sun protection film should never be stuck on only parts of the window pane. The result would be differences in temperature on the pane which would cause stress cracks. Clear film (e.g. shatter protection, UV protection..), decorative film and translucent film are exceptions. These can also be stuck on parts of the window pane. |
| Does fitting disturb normal work processes (e.g. in offices)? |
| |
No, fitting can usually take place without disturbing normal work processes. Only the area around the window panes to be fitted should be somewhat free. In the case of shop windows, displayed objects should be removed, since the film has to be applied in a wet condition. |
| By how many degrees can a film reduce the temperature in the room? |
| |
Unfortunately, we cannot say exactly by how much, since it depends on the other insulation in the building, the orientation of the window panes, the film type used, etc. However, room temperature can be clearly reduced by fitting a strong external film (e.g. Silver 80 XHC). |
| Can I fit the film any time? |
| |
We do not recommend fitting the external film when there are strong winds, since the film can easily bend in this way. We also do not advise fitting when it is raining. |
